Quick Reference for Career Dimensions: My Career Profiler
Getting Started.
- Click here: My Career Profiler
- The Learning Success Center Advisor will issue you a User Access Code.
- Click on Create a New Account and follow the directions on the screen.
Main Menu.
- When the MAIN MENU comes up, begin with the Self Analysis. This first step will assess your interests to see which major areas of study and occupations best match your Interests. After finishing your Interests, do the same for your Values, your Skills, and Personality.
- In Step 2 of the MAIN MENU, click on "Explore Any Career" to analyze any occupation you have in mind. By clicking on "Combine the Occupation Lists, ect" you can produce a list of occupations that match any combination of 2 or 3 of your self-assessments. For example you can combine your "Interests" and your "Personality" assessments.
- In Step 3 click on "My Self-Analysis" to see a Summary of your Self-Assessment results. Click on "My Saved Occupations" to see a list of the occupations you have "Saved" because they appeal to you.
Wrapping up.
- Your choices, preferences, and results are saved in your "Portfolio" along with your personal notes about your career objectives, academic strengths, extra curricula activities and sports
- Use the MCP guidelines for writing your "Resume" and "Cover Letters"
- Click on "Search for Jobs" to find "Internships," "Part-time Jobs" or "Full-Time Jobs" to help develop the skills and experiences you need to achieve your goals.
Don't forget to "LOGOUT"
