The Student Right-to-Know Act

The Student Right-to-Know Act was enacted in 1990 by federal law. The law requires institutions that receive Title IV HEA student financial aid to collect report and/or disclose Graduation and Placement Rates campus security reports to current and prospective students. It is a federal mandate designed to help enrolled and prospective students make informed decisions. Click here to view data.

The Clery Act

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, as a part of the Higher Education Act of 1965, is a federal law that requires colleges and universities to disclose certain timely and annual information about campus crime and security policies. All public and private institutions of postsecondary education participating in federal student aid programs are subject to it. The Security Report may be viewed here.

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act

The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. This applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education. The FERPA Act may be viewed here.

Be smart! Always lock your car. If you are on campus after dark, move your car to a close spot before your night class.

Buddy up - have classmates walk you to your car, then drive them to theirs.

Know the locations of telephones. Be aware of your surroundings. If you notice anything or anyone, who appears suspicious, report it to Security by dialing 903-926-6801 or 903-923-3351
