Placement Services seeks to assist students in choosing and preparing for careers in business, industrial, and technological fields. The campus's placement office provides computer access, career interest inventory testing, career choice advising, and assistance in launching a job search, including resume, cover letter, and follow-up letter assistance, interview skills, and business etiquette guidance. Students can access these services on a walk-in basis during regularly scheduled semesters, 8-5, M-F in room 444S.
Businesses and industries may contact Placement Services to post job openings or seek potential job applicants at (903) 923-3375. In addition, program faculty and staff initiate and maintain business and industry contacts to improve employer relationships, fill job openings and expand markets for job development.
Career Counselors and subject matter experts are invited into classrooms to speak to students. Additionally, the TSTC Marshall Library houses books, databases, reference materials, and other sources of information to assist students in the job search process. Current full and part-time job openings are posted on the Career Bulletin Board near the Library, across from room 511S. As well, the Library staff is always available to help students with resume composition, industry searches and other questions they may have.
In addition, TSTC Marshall hosts Industry Career Day in the spring and fall of each year. This event brings industry representatives from around the state, as well as adjoining states, together with recent and prospective graduates to meet, interview, and exchange information on the job market.
