Basic Motorcycle Operator Training Course

TSTC Marshall now offering Basic Motorcycle Rider Course (Approved by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation)

Basic Rider Course is required to get a new Texas motorcycle license (class M endorsement) Effective September 1, 2009 (Texas Transportation Code 521.148)

We provide the motorcycle, helmet, and books. Whenever riding during the course, all participants must wear the minimum of protective gear consisting of the following:

  1. Motorcycle Helmet meeting Federal Department of Transportation standards;
  2. Eye protection;
  3. Over the ankle footwear (not cloth, canvas, etc.);
  4. Long sleeved shirt or jacket;
  5. Long, non flared denim pants or equivalent;
  6. Full fingered gloves, preferably leather;
  7. Students under 18 years old MUST have waivers signed by a parent or legal guardian prior to participating in the Basic Rider Course.
