Intensive English Automotive Curriculum
This course offers learners the opportunity to develop, practice, and apply basic English language skills related to working in the automotive industry. Students develop reading comprehension skills for studying basic automotive systems and for following step-by-step instructions. Emphasis is placed on learning the meanings of textbook terms. Students develop listening and speaking skills, as well as writing skills for communicating with supervisors, associates, and customers.
The materials include a Needs Assessment, Skills Analysis, Skills Crosswalk Matrix, and the COMG 1005 Communications Improvement IV course. Course materials include a Syllabus, Learning Activity Plan and Assessment Plan. This course may be offered as a stand alone course, in conjunction with an automotive course, used as supplemental instruction for ESL automotive students or may be offered as corporate training for automotive clients.
