Help for Harlingen Employees
As you know, Hurricane Dolly left behind a substantial amount of damage at our TSTC campus in Harlingen. Along with the damage to the campus, many of the employees have been affected personally by this storm. Several have lost everything and others have suffered substantial losses.
These employees are members of the larger TSTC family and, like other times in the past, when unfortunate things happen, the larger TSTC family has extended our support in tangible ways.
Please consider making a donation to the Harlingen Relief Fund. The following options are available to donate:
________One Time gift of cash or check
________Future one time gift (please specify gift month) _______
________Pledge payment of $ _______ per month for __________ months
Gifts of cash or check can be dropped off at the System Office of the Chancellor, or the Human Resources office at your campus. Please make checks payable to TSTC Regents Circle and in the memo field enter Horizon / Harlingen.
Credit card payments are available. For security reasons, please contact Tara Odom at 254-867-4897 or tara.odom@systems.tstc.edu
To take advantage of the future one time gift, or pledge payment, please forward your email to tara.odom@systems.tstc.edu. Reminders will be sent out for future pledges.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Harlingen classes and full operations to resume Monday, August 4
Classes and full operations of all service and support offices of the college will resume Monday, August 4. Phone, utilities and Internet services, including e mail have been fully restored at TSTC Harlingen.
"We fully realize the hardship conditions under which we will be working these next few weeks, but hope that the entire TSTC Harlingen community will pull together and help each other get the job done," Dr. J. Gilbert Leal.
New Student RoundUp scheduled for August 2 has been canceled.
Summer Graduation scheduled for August 9 has been canceled due to the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Dolly including heavy damage to the Harlingen Municipal Auditorium where the ceremony is normally held.
All Student Services Building operations and the department of Administrative Technology will be relocated to the Field House.
Some buildings on campus will be undergoing renovation and remediation during and beyond the semester break period. Hopefully all damage can be corrected before the start of fall classes on August 25. |
