Career Outlook

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Webmaster graduate, you can look forward to a variety of career opportunities and options. Job responsibilities may include utilizing creative skills by creating and maintaining Web pages, designing dynamic Web pages and various multimedia elements used in the web. Webmaster graduates will hold titles such as Webmaster, Web Designer, Web Programmer or Web Developer.

Employers want technicians who can:

  • Utilize programming skills; and
  • Work independently and in a team setting.
  • Organize information effectively;
  • Generate innovative ideas to solve business problems;
  • Leverage IT assets (computers, network, Internet/Intranet) to provide an effective workflow;
  • Write clear, concise program requirements;
  • Utilize programming skills to solve business problems; and
  • Create and optimize graphics for the Web;
  • Work independently and in a team setting.

Industry Standards:

In addition to holding a degree from TSTC, graduates can build skills and credibility in the job market by earning industry certifications. These certifications include: Certified Professional Webmaster (CPW), Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW), and Certified Professional Web Developer (CPWDV) Specializations.
