Process Operations Technician A process technician is a key member of a team of people responsible for planning, analyzing, and controlling the production of products from the acquisition of raw materials through the production and distribution of products to customers in a variety of process industries. These industries include, but are not limited to, chemical, food and beverage, oil exploration and production, pharmaceuticals, power generation, pulp and paper, refining and wastewater treatment. Process Operations technicians are the backbone of industry. They are responsible for efficient and safe operation of all process equipment within the plant, monitoring of all process and utility systems and equipment to ensure they operate within their proper parameters, collection of product and utility samples and performing lab analysis to ensure products meet specifications, provide ownership and responsibility for an area of the facility while on shift to ensure the safety of all who work this area through adherence to policies and procedures, preparation of equipment and systems for maintenance activities, and performance of minor mechanical and/or maintenance activities on equipment and systems. |
