Welcome Letter Dear Prospective Student: Thank you for your interest in Light/Medium Duty Truck (LMDT) program at TSTC Marshall. This program overview is provided to assist you in making an informative decision in a Light/Medium Duty Truck career. It is our hope that LMDT will be that choice. The instructors of the LMDT program are dedicated in providing the necessary educational tools, hands-on experience, and technological skills needed to be successful in the dynamic field of Light/Medium Duty Truck. We have partnered with several industries to help insure that our programs meet the demands of today's employers. These companies include Chrysler Dodge dealers (Patterson Chrysler Dodge), Ford dealers (Pegues-Hurst Ford), Ryder, USA Trucks and many others.. The Associate of Applied Science Degree program includes classroom and laboratory instruction that focuses on building experience in Engines, Transmissions, Steering and chassis, Electrical, Heating-Air conditioning (HVAC), Brakes, Auto-Power Shift & Hydrostatic Transmissions, Electronic Controls, Advanced Tune-up. During the course, industry suppliers provide short specialized certificate training sessions. Some of these certificates include Raybestos Air Brake, Eaton Transmission, and Stemco Seal. LMDT students also have the opportunity to participate in internships and cooperative programs with many of our industry partners.
