Welcome Letter

Dear Prospective Student:

Welcome to the Industrial Technology (ITec) Department and thank you for the opportunity to present exciting careers that offer a blend of traditional and up-and-coming technologies. This program overview is provided to assist you in making an informed decision about choosing a great paying career that is just right for you.

The ITec Program consists of three associate degrees and three certificate programs. The associate degrees are: Industrial Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance and a new two year Electric Utility Construction & Maintenance (Lineman Degree) program.

Industrial Mechatronics offers a broad range of technical subjects that can be tailored to fit the needs of each individual student. The Industrial Maintenance degree is composed of an excellent blend of industrial electrical and industrial mechanical subjects. The new Lineman AAS Degree adds academic and management skills to the Lineman certificate. The three certificates are: Electric Utility Construction & Maintenance (Lineman Certificate), Introduction to Industrial Technology, and Introduction to Industrial Maintenance. These certificates are normally completed in about one year. Typically, a student will be able to complete one of the associate degree programs in about two years.

If you need to enter the workforce as soon as possible, we can help you select an appropriate certificate program. If you later decide to complete one of the associate degrees, your certificate can be used to meet the requirements for the first year of the related AAS degree.

All of our Certificate and Degree programs include classroom and laboratory instruction that focuses on building experience in traditional, as well as emerging technologies. The skills you learn are an integral part of current and future industrial technologies. Industry leaders are looking for skilled, well educated technicians who can take the lead in areas like laser-optical shaft alignment, machinery installation, plant maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting. You will be prepared for employment in some of the most rewarding careers in America.

If you have any questions or would like a tour of your future college facilities, please contact Debra McIntosh, Coordinator of Recruitment, at 903-923-3205 or me. We will be happy to schedule a time to talk with you and discuss your educational needs.

Sincerely,
