Industrial Hygiene

According to the American Electronics Association and NASDAQ, the Texas State Technical College System is one of only four colleges in Texas to rank in the top 50 nation wide for engineering degrees and engineering technology.

The Industrial Hygiene (IH) Specialization trains the student to anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control environmental health hazards in the workplace. A student may train for a career as an industrial hygiene technologist, helping to ensure healthy and safe conditions for today's workers. Students in this program become familiar with the operation of sampling equipment to monitor the workplace environment and to help ensure compliance with workplace environmental regulation. IH technologists also use knowledge of ergonomics, noise control, radiation and environmental toxicology to establish healthy workplace conditions. An important job requires serious and specific training, educational training that Texas State Technical College Marshall offers in its Environmental Health, Safety & Quality Technology program.
