Welcome Letter

Dear Prospective Student:

Thank you for your interest in the Environmental Health and Safety program. At TSTC Marshall, Environmental Health and Safety is one of the programs within the Enterprise Systems Division that includes Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS). Environmental health and safety personnel work in industry to assure worker safety and environmental protection.

The Environmental Health and Safety trains you for a career as a Environmental Health and Safety professional that helps companies establish and monitor a safe working environment. You will be trained to read and interpret regulations from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). You will also be trained to detect and provide protection from hazards in the workplace, fill out compliance paperwork, perform safety training and investigate work accidents.

Our programs offer hands-on training for the techniques used in Environmental Health and Safety, such as air, soil and water sampling, respirator fit testing, audiometric testing, fall protection, emergency spill clean up procedures along with many other hands-on techniques. You will learn computer skills that are needed in the safety industry such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and compliance spread sheets and compliance e-forms. The training you receive at TSTC will provide you with an up-to-date education in worker safety.

If you have questions or would like to tour the department, or the campus please contact us. We would be happy to schedule a personalized tour and we welcome the opportunity to talk with you. I hope to see you soon.

Sincerely,
Wayne Dillon
