Career Outlook

Roles and Responsibilities:

A student majoring in Office Technology should expect career opportunities in office support positions such as, Administrative Assistants, Executive Assistants, Secretaries, Office Managers, and Data Entry Technicians. The range of opportunities and responsibilities is extensive. Our program will equip a successful candidate to create professional looking reports, forms, meeting notes, maintain personnel records, assist in planning meetings and conferences, as well as making travel arrangements. In addition, students are trained in computer, organizational, accounting, communications, and soft skills such as time and conflict management.

Demand:

The outlook for jobs in the East Texas area according to data from the Texas Labor Force is definitely bright. Employment opportunities are expected to continue to grow over the foreseeable future. Existing companies will need office support staff as part of the growing need to management office resources. New companies will need support staff to help with organizational and planning needs.
