Career Outlook
Job opportunities are excellent for AMT graduates, and exist worldwide in engineering firms, manufacturing companies and
the military. Firms that have product design and prototyping departments or those that use prototyping equipment and services need trained
technicians. AMT technicians are equivalent to design engineers, and the demand for their skills will continue to grow in this highly
specialized field of manufacturing. With many industries decreasing costly large productions runs, as well as smaller runs of different
variations of items, the need for employees skilled in short run tooling will continue to increase, as will the need for this less expensive
production process. Job opportunities for AMT technicians exist in the military, because the technology is portable. Instead of having to
transport and stock massive numbers of spare replacement parts, the military is equipping its remote repair facilities in the field with
prototype based manufacturing machines. Whether you are looking for a career in industry or in the military as a manufacturing technician,
the AMT program can prepare you.
