Student Network

TSTC Marshall provides a network dedicated to its students. The primary purpose of the network is for student research, collaboration, and course participation. In addition, gaming and other non-academic uses are allowed on a non-interference basis. Each student is also provided e-mail, calendar, task list, file space and other services. The student network provides wired access in all the dormitory rooms. In addition, the entire campus is covered by Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) wireless access. All students are highly encouraged to make a laptop with Wi-Fi a part of their tool kit. Many of the courses offered at TSTC Marshall have on on-line component. With a properly equipped laptop, students can accomplish their on-line course work anywhere on the campus or at home and take their work and notes with them to class.

• Web browser
• Office suite (Windows version available in the bookstore)
• Anti-virus software
